The easiest way is to browse our coin show directory and filter by your state. We list every show we can verify with dates, venues, and admission details. You can also check with your local coin club, as many clubs maintain their own calendars. For April 2026 specifically, this guide covers every show we are currently tracking across 28 states.
It depends on the show. Many of the club shows listed here are completely free, especially in states like Florida, Ohio, and Michigan. Others charge a modest admission fee, typically between $2 and $8. The larger multi-day shows like the Denver Coin Expo ($8) and the NH Coin and Currency Expo ($7) tend to charge a bit more, but you are getting access to significantly more dealers and inventory. We list admission prices on each show's page when that information is available.
Bring cash — many dealers prefer it and some offer small discounts for cash transactions. A loupe or magnifying glass is essential for examining coins closely. If you are looking for specific items, bring a want list so you can work through it systematically. It also helps to bring a recent price guide or have an app on your phone so you can verify prices on the spot. If you are selling, bring your coins in organized holders with your asking prices in mind.
Absolutely. Coin shows are one of the best places to sell because you have dozens of potential buyers under one roof. You can walk from table to table getting offers, which gives you leverage you would never have selling to a single local shop. Dealers at shows are actively buying because they need inventory. Just be realistic about your expectations — dealers need to make a margin, so offers will typically be below full retail value. That said, competitive offers from multiple dealers at a show often beat what you would get from a single buyer.
The Denver Coin Expo is the largest show on the April calendar with over 170 dealer tables at the National Western Complex. For state-level conventions, the MSNS 69th Annual Spring Convention in Waterford, Michigan is a major three-day event. The Early American Coppers convention in Charlotte is also significant with 65 tables, though it is more specialized. If you can only make it to one show in April, the Denver Expo gives you the most to see.
